Goats continue to find a way to victory
Beat a strong Mabton team 59-50 in OT

At the beginning of the basketball season, Coach Joe Harris said, “We’ve got a great shot at being back on top this year, but we will have to work hard” His guidance as a coach and his team’s ability to play as a team has put the Goats back on top as they enter the Sun Dome this coming week to close out the 2010/11 basketball season.
Beginning with CTL League play, the Goats (20-5) have put together another winning season and will enter play at the Sun Dome in Yakima on Thursday, March 3, against Vashon Island (17-8), the very team that beat them in Chelan’s first game last year. “It’s payback time,” wrote statistian Tracy Williams when he sent the Mabton stats (see below).
It took overtime to finally beat Mabton (20-5) 59-50. According to GLC’s Dave Rogge, Michael Amsel Jr. lit up the scoreboard to power Chelan over Mabton. Amsel ended up with 25 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists. Aaron McQuaid, (CTL co-player of the year) had a huge night with 14 rebounds, 10 of which came on the defensive side of the court, 12 points and 5 blocks. Tyler James pulled down another 5 rebounds and added 10 points to the mix. Evan Reister had 5 rebounds and 4 points and Broson Louie added 6 points and 5 rebounds.
