Catcher Alex Brown leaped high into the air to snag a thrown ball and was able to tag the Omak runner for an out instead of allowing a run.
Chelan thumps Omak in opening District VI game

After starting off a little on the rough side in the first inning, Josh Burbery settled down on the mound to go the distance, striking out 9, walking 4 and allowing 6 scattered hits for the 11-2 victory over the Omak Pioneers in round one play. “I was a little worried during that first inning,” said Burbery. “I was able to settle down in the second.”
The stands were full of Chelan and Omak baseball fans and the Chelan Booster Club put on a BBQ for everyone.
The Chelan fans were not disappointed. Offensively, Chelan was hitting well and chalked up 11 hits in this game with Evan Reister going 2-2 with a huge home run and 4 RBIs. Cyrus Desmarais was 2-4 with 2 doubles and an RBI. Adam Hendricks also went 2-4 with 2 RBIs.
Senior Josh Burbery had a great outing on the mound for the Goats
Kyle Nelson was 1-3 with1 RBI, Josh Burbery 1-3 with 2 RBI's, Jesse Quigley 1-4 with 1 RBI, Alex Brown 1-4, and Gabe Quigley 1-3. 
Defensively the Goats had only 1 error during the game.
“They are having fun out there,” said Coach Jim Burbery. “And when you have fun, good things happen. Our bats are still hot and we’ll just keep working on all the things need to do.”
