It's been a long time since I posted anything under my
Out & About section here on GoLakeChelan.
I made a trip to Chelan from Camas April 3rd-6th, to clean more of my chess items mainly from my former home at 225 E. Trow in Chelan.
And I made two trips to the Recycle Center, one to the Transfer Station and one to the Metal Drive location.
I also took a full 'car load' back to Camas ... mostly old chess magazines.
Kathy and I drove around and walked around Chelan some with my camera at the ready and noticed some changes since we moved to Camas in December 2007.
The corner building on Woodin across from the elementary school is still being upgraded.
The red flags are to help people cross the street.
Pizza is taking over what used to be The Kitchen Station next to Main Street Gallery.
We had a fine meal here in what use to be the Chelan Post Office and Chelan's new book store locations.
A new small shop on Emerson has been added to downtown Chelan. I think the insurance office that once was here is now on East Woodin Ave.
Sweet Temptations has left the area.
The Dale's Tavern sign is still on the alley backside of the City Zoo (see below) location which has gone out of the tavern business and they are selling the pool tables also to make way for something else.

Don't think I had taken a photo of the 509 building before in downtown Chelan.
I noticed some changes in the Chelan Public Library while taking some more books and games for the Friends of the Library sale later this month.

I took a few photos of the metal drive piles. The black item in the middle of this photo was a printer that I owned from which Kathy and I spent a lot of time removing the plastic parts and circuit boards before getting help to load it in to our station wagon for the trip to the metal drive.
The Chelan Bluff housing units are complete and have people living in them.
