Chelan dumps Brewster in three
Lady Goats 2-0 in CTL Volleyball

The Lady Goats hosted the Brewster Bears on Tuesday evening, September 12, in a Caribou Trail League match-up. The first two games of the match were close up to the end, but Chelan found its legs in game three to close out the Brewster Bears 25-12, 25-19, 25-9. "I think they got discouraged by game three," said Chelan coach Doneen Hendricks.
In game one Brewster went out to a 6-2 lead over the Goats. Chelan began to battle back and finally took the lead and 8-7 and built an 18-12 advantage before Brewster battled back to tie the game at 21-all. Chelan took the lead back on a Katie Harris kill and when on to finish the Bears off 25-21.
In game two, Chelan jumped out to a 7-3 lead and never gave it up despite Brewster's best efforts to take advantage in this game. Chelan had a 17-14 advantage before the Bears challenged the Lady Goats and climbed to only two points out before Chelan slammed the door and defeated them 25-19.
Game three was owned by Chelan from the beginning, allowing Brewster only nine points.
The win over Brewster gave Chelan an early 2-0 league record. The Lady Goats beat Omak on Thursday, September 7 and then left for Yakima for a tournament which began on Friday for Chelan. "We only had three hours sleep before hitting the gymnasium," said Coach Hendricks. "In the past we never had to play until Saturday." The only team to beat Chelan was Kings.
