The two photos below were taken a year or more ago of an area NORTH of where Bob is currently (Bankok) - an area that he says in unusually extremely beautiful.
Bob comments in his email that there are reports of terribly heavy losses in this region. Some of those who survibed are staying in Bankok in the same hotel as Robert - and he says there's lots of incredible rescue attempt stories --- Unfortunatley, he says,  there are an equal number of sad and tragic stories too.
